Privacy Policy

Solon AI Inc. ("we," "our," or "us") makes GrantAi. This Privacy Policy explains what GrantAi keeps on your device, what it sends elsewhere and to whom, and the little we hold ourselves.

• On your device: Everything you save in GrantAi (notes, voice captures, documents, conversations) is stored on your device in encrypted form.
• Not on our servers: We do not keep a copy of your memories. We cannot read, recover or share them.
• Backups are your choice: You can back up your memories to your own iCloud account (iPhone and iPad) or your own Google Drive (Android). The backup goes to your account, never to ours.
• No recovery by us: If you delete your memories or lose your device without a backup, we cannot recover them.

GrantAi uses a cloud AI model, Google Gemini, provided by Google LLC, to answer your questions. The app asks for your permission before it sends anything to Gemini for the first time.

3.1 What is sent

• The question or message you type or speak
• The memories GrantAi finds relevant to it, and the recent messages of the same conversation
• Your approximate location, only if you have turned on location in the app
• Documents and photos you choose to add, so their text can be read and saved as memories

3.2 Who receives it

• Solon AI (relay): The request passes through our server at solonai.com, which forwards it to Google. We do not store the content of your questions, memories or answers. We record only usage figures (a device identifier, the model used, the size of the request and response, and the time taken) to run the service and prevent abuse.
• Google (Gemini API): Google processes the request to produce the answer. Google does not retain it and does not use it to train its models.
• Google Search: To answer questions about current events, Gemini may use parts of your question as a Google Search query.

3.3 Your choice

If you do not agree, GrantAi does not send anything to Gemini. Your memories stay on your device and can still be saved and browsed.

• Gmail, Google Calendar and Google Drive: If you connect your Google account, GrantAi reads the messages, events and files you choose, with read-only access. What you save becomes a memory on your device. The access token is stored on your device, and you can disconnect at any time.
• Apple Health and Health Connect: If you allow it, GrantAi reads activity, sleep and workout data and saves a daily summary as a memory on your device.
• Location: If you allow it, GrantAi tags memories with where you were, stored on your device.

Information from these services is sent to Google Gemini only when it is part of a memory relevant to a question you ask (Section 3).

5.1 Subscription

• Subscriptions are bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play, which process the payment. We receive the purchase record (such as the transaction or order identifier) to confirm your subscription.
• A device identifier, to link your subscription to your device.

5.2 Usage figures

• The usage figures described in Section 3.2, and the app version and platform.

5.3 What we do not collect

• Your email address or name. GrantAi does not ask for an account.
• Your memories, notes, documents or conversations.
• The content of your questions and answers.

If you email us, we receive your email address and message in order to reply.

• Confirming your subscription on your device
• Running the answer service and preventing abuse
• Responding to support requests you send us

We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or use your content to train AI models.

• Google: Processing your questions with Gemini, as described in Section 3.
• Apple and Google Play: Processing your subscription purchase.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose the limited information we hold if required by law. We cannot disclose your memories, because we do not have them.

8.1 On your device

• Encryption: Your memories are encrypted with AES-256
• SHA-256 Sealing: Each memory record is sealed with a hash and a timestamp, so changes can be detected

8.2 In transit

• TLS: Everything sent to our servers and to Google is encrypted in transit

• Your memories: Kept on your device until you delete them. We keep no copy.
• Questions and answers: Not stored by us or by Google.
• Subscription records and usage figures: Kept while your subscription is active and as required for tax and legal purposes.

You can view, export or delete your memories at any time in the app. You can withhold or withdraw permission for location, health, and connected Google services in the app or in your device settings.

Residents of California, the EEA and the UK have additional rights over personal information we hold. Contact us at support@solonai.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Solon AI Inc. is based in the United States. The limited information we hold, and the questions sent to Google Gemini, may be processed in the United States. Your memories remain on your device.

GrantAi is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

We may update this policy. We will show the date of the latest change at the top of this page and describe material changes in the app.
